What is LTL freight shipping?

An LTL shipment is typically less than 6 standard pallets and weighs less than 10,000 pounds. LTL carriers consolidate several shipments from multiple customers and move the LTL freight from terminal to terminal until it reaches the consignee location.

What is necessary to get an LTL freight quote?

To receive a quote, we absolutely need four things – origin zip code, destination zip code, total weight and freight class. If you are unsure about your freight class, please give us a call and we will be more than happy to assist you. There are also additional charges for shipments that involve residential locations or need a lift gate truck to at either location.

Who is a typical customer?

We service all types of customers from new shippers who are sending freight for the first time to seasoned shippers who move LTL freight 100 times a week. For repeat shippers, we have an online transportation management system where customers can login to quote, schedule and track all their shipments.

Do I need to use your Bill of Lading?

Yes, it is very important to use an LTLFreightShipping.com Bill of Lading as this will tell the carrier who to bill.

How is payment handled?

Most transactions are paid with any major credit card (AMEX, Discover, Mastercard, Visa). If a customer would like net terms, we will run a credit check on their company and if a certain score is met, we can extend net terms.

Are Transit Times Guaranteed?

For all standard LTL shipments, transit times are never guaranteed. However, upon request, we can get a guaranteed quote from our carriers.

Will the quoted price always be the final price charged?

If the details of the shipment are the same as described to the account representative, then the answer is yes. However, if details change such as weight, description of goods, destination point, etc. then the price will not be the same as the quoted price.

How do I track my shipments?

If you have an account with us, there is a tracking section in your personalized account. If you do not have an account, simply contact your account representative and they will supply you with a PRO number to track your shipment.
